Cobra Commander

This is my Cobra Commander costume that I made for Halloween 2008. I was inspired by the 12″ Sideshow Collectibles figure.

I was searching for a an awesome, but challenging, yet attainable costume when I had stumbled across it. I had been searching for the 12″ figures that came out in the early 90s to show a coworker. I was lamenting the fact that I never did get one (at least I had the 12″ Duke though, in Desert Storm-styled fatigues).

Some searches in ebay indeed yielded many results of the figure in question, but also revealed the Sideshow Collectibles version (due in 2nd quarter of 2009). I was blown away, and after that, I knew what my Halloween costume would be. After all, for years I had been wanting to concoct an elaborate costume, but never followed through.

This was a great excuse to go all out.
